Corrections and Retractions Policy

Tạp chí Trắc địa – Bản đồ is committed to maintaining the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of the published record. When errors or serious issues affecting a published article are identified, the journal will take appropriate action to correct or retract the article when necessary.

1. Corrections

The journal may publish a correction when an error is identified in a published article but the error does not invalidate the overall validity or integrity of the research.

Corrections may be required for, but are not limited to:

  • Errors in author information;

  • Errors in units, data, tables, figures, or captions;

  • Errors in funding or conflict-of-interest information;

  • Editorial or formatting errors that affect the understanding of the article;

  • Other errors that should be corrected to maintain the accuracy of the published record.

A correction notice will clearly describe the error and the corresponding correction.

When appropriate, the online version of the article may be updated to reflect the corrected information. Any changes will be made transparently so that the publication history remains clear.

2. Retractions

The journal may retract a published article when there is reliable evidence that the findings or content of the article are no longer reliable, or when serious concerns exist regarding the integrity of the research or publication process.

Reasons for retraction may include, but are not limited to:

  • Major errors that make the results or conclusions unreliable;

  • Fabrication or falsification of data or results;

  • Plagiarism or serious infringement of intellectual property rights;

  • Duplicate publication or inappropriate republication;

  • Serious violations of research or publication ethics;

  • Other circumstances that substantially compromise the integrity or reliability of the published record.

Retraction decisions will be considered based on the available evidence and applicable principles of publication ethics.

3. Retraction Notices

When an article is retracted, the journal will publish a separate retraction notice that identifies:

  • The article;

  • The article title and authors;

  • The article DOI;

  • The reason for retraction, to the extent appropriate;

  • The date of publication of the retraction notice.

A retracted article will remain part of the published record where appropriate, but it will be clearly identified as “Retracted” to prevent readers from treating the article as a valid publication.

4. DOI and Published Record

The journal will not normally remove the DOI or completely eliminate the published record of an article solely because the article has been corrected or retracted, except where required by law or applicable exceptional circumstances.

Correction and retraction information will be linked to the original article to maintain traceability and transparency of the published record.

Where appropriate, the article status and relevant information will also be updated in the DOI metadata and the journal's DOI registration system.

5. Review Process

Issues requiring correction or retraction may be identified by authors, readers, reviewers, editors, or other relevant parties.

When a serious concern is brought to the journal's attention, the journal will assess the available evidence and may request additional information or clarification from the authors or other relevant parties.

Depending on the nature of the issue, the journal may:

  • Request an explanation from the authors;

  • Request a correction or additional information;

  • Publish a correction notice;

  • Publish a retraction notice;

  • Take other appropriate measures to protect the integrity of the published record.

The journal seeks to ensure that decisions are made fairly, objectively, and based on evidence.

6. Transparency of the Published Record

The journal is committed to maintaining transparent and accurate publication records and will not conceal or remove information about corrected or retracted articles when retaining such information is necessary to preserve the integrity of the scholarly record.

Correction and retraction notices will be publicly available and linked to the relevant article where appropriate.

The journal follows internationally recognized publication ethics principles and relevant guidance from organizations such as the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) when handling corrections and retractions.
